before visiting the far east, i thought water lilies came in only one color – white. i saw this pink lily in ubud, bali, as well as some breathtaking blue ones.

i adopted domino three years ago from animal friends of the valley. he has been a real joy in our lives. i’m a big proponent of taking in shelter animals.


cambria is on california’s central coast near san luis obispo. it’s a great place to visit and very close to the wonderful wineries of paso robles.

we arrived in st helena yesterday morning on a clear, crisp fall day. the scenery on spring mountain near york creek was breathtaking.


paso robles westside

paso robles is hands down our favorite place to visit. we spent an afternoon with friends on the west side yesterday, with gentle breezes and lots of sunshine.

while visiting briar rose winery in temecula, owner les linkogle asked me if i had ever seen an orchid tree. when i told him no, he took me to this magnificent tree laden with the most beautiful flowers.

costa rican river bird

the area around jaco beach, costa rica is filled with magnificent sights and much to do. i took a crocodile river tour in 2007 and was fortunate enough to snap a photo of this magnificent bird.


pyramid reflections

we were in las vegas about a year ago. early one morning, i thought the reflection of mandalay bay in the luxor pyramid was stunning.

i paid my first visit to san antonio last year and really loved its charm. riverwalk is simply mesmerizing.

on a visit to cape may and wildwood, new jersey last year, this little character made itself at home on our hotel deck. i’m not sure what type of bird it is.
