budge brown lost his wife to breast cancer and decided to do something about it. he started cleavage creek vineyards and donates 10% of sales to breast cancer research. it was a crisp, clear autumn day when we visited.
my family and the eisele family have been friends for decades. milton and barbara eisiele owned and operated eisele vineyards, growing some of the finest cabernet grapes anywhere before selling the property to bart and daphne araujo. i was able to visit this past wednesday and the colors were stunning.

the temecula winegrowers association’s 20th annual harvest celebration kicked off yesterday with more than 30 participating wineries offering wine and food. the vines were beautiful along the driveway to palumbo family winery.
we visited the napa valley at the end of october last year. i don’t know that i have ever seen more spectacular fall colors. these are vines at larkmead winery.
visiting maryland and virginia for the thanksgiving holiday, i stopped to take a picture of this sign on the way to naked mountain winery.
friday morning we met with cathy corison of corison winery in st. helena. i can’t imagine there’s a prettier time of year to visit the napa valley.
wrapping up our california wine tour, we visited corison winery, then had lunch at the culinary institute of america at greystone. at larkmead winery, i took this shot in the vineyards.
