before visiting the far east, i thought water lilies came in only one color – white. i saw this pink lily in ubud, bali, as well as some breathtaking blue ones.

i wish i knew the name of these flowers. when i visited bali in 2004, i was overwhelmed by how many beautiful flowers there were, many of which i had never before seen.

in 2004 i visited bali and stayed in the charming village of ubud. i really hope to return someday. i don’t think there are many flowers more stunning than the water lily.

the lotus is one of the most exquisite flowers i have ever seen. i took this shot when I visited bali in 2004.

visiting bali in 2004 was a delight. the flowers alone would have been worth the trip, but there was much more than that to experience.

in 2004, i spent about a week in ubud, bali. it was hot and humid, but that climate made everything so green and lush. the people were delightful and the food was divine.
