in the past week i’ve strolled through the vineyards at palumbo family winery, oak mountain, fallbrook winery and orfila. harvest will begin very soon as these grapes bear witness.

founding member and drummer for little feat lost his battle with liver disease yesterday. he will be missed not only for his legendary drumming, but for his kindness and quick wit.

i walked through the vineyards of palumbo family vineyards and oak mountain winery yesterday. harvest is but a few weeks away for a few of the varietals. the grapes are thriving during this unusually cool summer.

at the end of a wonderful nine day visit to maine, we took a tour of maine distillers, the home of cold river vodka. i can’t remember the last time someone pulled out a fiddle to serenade us goodbye.

spending four days in rockland, maine was an absolute delight. sitting on penobscot bay, it is beautiful, rugged and full of charm.

a week in paris is a life changer. montmartre and the beautiful sacre coeur are just some of the incredible sights to see. i don’t remember ever seeing a sky like this before.
