quintana roo hibiscus
we visited xcaret in the state of quintana roo, mexico a few years ago. it’s a huge park, with beautiful flowers, birds, a river you can float down, swimming with dolphins and a theater. this hibiscus was one of the prettiest i have ever seen.
morning sky, cancun
we returned last night from a week in cancun. the weather was glorious, and saturday morning the sky was just stunning.
cancun lighthouse
the resort we are visiting has remnants of centuries old stone walls. there is also a beautiful old lighthouse on the point.

we went to have lunch at pericos in downtown cancun yesterday, only to find, sadly, they are out of business. we wound up a few blocks down at la parilla, where the waiter have a most interesting way of delivering drinks.
