a rose by any other name
on a recent visit to paso robles, we stopped to visit denis degher at domaine degher. this rose caught my eye.
lotus stem
on a visit to cambodia in 2005, i went out looking for lotuses. they are one of the most beautiful flowers i have ever seen, even after all of the petals have dropped.
might as well be spring
in the temecula valley, february showers have brought march flowers. the hillsides are awash.
kauai hibiscus
kauai has some of the loveliest flowers i’ve seen. i shot this in 2004 shortly after a rain shower.
quintana roo hibiscus
we visited xcaret in the state of quintana roo, mexico a few years ago. it’s a huge park, with beautiful flowers, birds, a river you can float down, swimming with dolphins and a theater. this hibiscus was one of the prettiest i have ever seen.
purple flower st thomas
st thomas was our 3rd port of call on the eastern caribbean aboard holland america’s ms eurodam. our first stop of the day was at the butterfly where i saw this lovely purple flower.
plumeria
sorry i can’t pinpoint where i shot this, but it may have been in vietnam. i think plumerias are one of the loveliest flowers on earth.
jamaican daisy
on a trip to negril, jamaica a few years back, a group of friends got together to explore the country and take some photos. i’m not sure if this is a daisy, but i like the softness and light in this shot.

rancho la puerta
i’ve been fortunate enough to visit rancho la puerta in tecate, mexico several times. it truly is a photographer’s paradise.

nasturtium
we visited lopez island, washington on our honeymoon to stop at lopez island vineyards. i saw this nasturtiums in the village.

california golden poppy
our state flower is the california golden poppy. i shot this in march in paso robles.

white lily – ubud, bali
i visited bali in 2004 and can’t wait to return. the people, the food, the smells and the flowers…

hibiscus in cancun
from a 2003 visit to cancun, i love the light and background in this hibiscus photo. enjoy.

costa rican flower
in 2007 i visited jaco beach, costa rica. i hope to return someday. there are so many incredibly beautiful things to see.
