a rose by any other name
on a recent visit to paso robles, we stopped to visit denis degher at domaine degher. this rose caught my eye.

on our way home we stopped at mojo cellars for a visit with denis degher, tasted some wine and walked his property. denis thought this ladybug on his vines was a good omen.

cambria is on california’s central coast near san luis obispo. it’s a great place to visit and very close to the wonderful wineries of paso robles.

on a visit to starr ranch in paso robles, we assigned guard duty to stevie. she did a stellar job protecting the deodoro wine.

i was in paso robles last march and shot an oak tree in a mustard field. skies were gray, it was cold, but it was still a magnificent sight. i went back to the same place last week… here’s the same field under sunshine and blue skies.
spring in the air
paso robles is a home away from home for us. heading west on hiway 46 east, we were spellbound by the incredible wildflowers that lit up the hillsides.
watching the vines
last friday was a picture perfect day in paso robles. we spent the late morning at tablas creek vineyards, watching turkey vultures swoop and soar over the vines.
grenache grapes 2009 harvest
we spent a week visiting california’s wine countries from santa barbara to napa valley. at vina robles’ huerhuero vineyard, these grenaches grapes were about to be picked.

this past weekend was harvest festival weekend in paso robles. laura and i were invited by david, the owner of carina cellars, to his home saturday night and to check out the view from the top of his property.

paso robles is hands down our favorite place to visit. we spent an afternoon with friends on the west side yesterday, with gentle breezes and lots of sunshine.
