danish seaside

i visited friends in copenhagen in 2002 and have been back twice. i really love denmark and find it and its people to be full of charm.


going nowhere fast

nick palumbo has some vintage cars at his palumbo family vineyards. one of these days he’ll get around to fixing them up. in the meantime, he’s busy producing quality wines.

driving between santa ynez and santa barbara, i pulled the car over to capture these majestic oaks.

had a great visit to the santa ynez valley and did some chantarelle mushroom hunting. didn’t find a lot of mushrooms, but got some nice photos.


santa ynez vineyards

went to visit the beautiful santa ynez valley with chef frank miller in a quest for chanterelle mushrooms. we stopped by the magnificent harrison clarke vineyards.


leonesse grapes

we stopped by the grape stomp at temecula’s leonesse cellars last fall. grapes hanging on the vines always bring a smile to my face.


bill payne

i went to scandinavia in 2007 with two friends as we followed little feat across denamrk, into sweden and norway. keyboard player bill payne is not only a wizard, he’s always a joy to watch.


kauai hibiscus

kauai has some of the loveliest flowers i’ve seen. i shot this in 2004 shortly after a rain shower.

last year in perris, ca, a world record was set for the largest formation of women skydivers, all in the name of raising money for breast cancer research. jump for the cause.


cedar plank salmon

ponte winery in temecula has recently added renowned chef frank miller to their team. on a visit last week, he dazzled us with one dish after another, here’s the salmon on a flaming cedar plank.


old havana alley

visiting havana is an amazing experience. when you’re in old havana it feels as if you have stepped fifty years back in time.

we visited cancun last august. this iguana was more than happy to pose for me.


casa de fruta

last april we visited paso robles and then headed to san francisco. we stopped at the legendary casa de fruta in hollister. if you’re ever in the san jose area, make a point of stopping. it’s worth a visit.


nature’s ice chest

my uncle nelson passed away at his home in ketchum, idaho a few weeks ago. this past friday, we honored his memory at his home. mothered nature provided the refrigeration for the beverages.


hot air

valentine’s day served up perfect weather in the temecula wine country. it’s rare to see a hot air balloon in the afternoon, but i spotted this one at about 3:30.


chocolate gulch

i attended a memorial service for my uncle in ketchum, idaho. the weather was magnificent, crisp and clear. for pure, pristine beauty, it’s hard to beat.

years ago, i used to grab my camera every morning and go for a walk, taking pictures of things that caught my eye. i shot this in the georgetown area of washington, dc. it’s a habit i want to resume.


jamaican window

i went on a photographic field trip outside negril, jamaica a few years back. we stopped at an old fort and lighthouse and i thought this window in the ruins of a building was gorgeous.


it won’t be long

the vines are dormant now, but in a few short months we will witness bud break. this picture was taken early in the growing season last year at la cereza winery.

as you drive into la cresta near the majestic santa rosa plateau, an iron hawk is there to greet you.


driving the clydesdales

at the 2006 temecula valley balloon and wine festival, the budweiser clydesdales made an appearance. i love the dalmation.
