we ate on the beach last year in puerto vallarta. i thought the lights wrapped around this pole were so pretty.

in the heart of puerto vallarta sits a majestic cathedral. i first visited the city more than forty years ago and its beauty grabs me each time.

while visiting puerto vallarta, we drove south to mismaloya and stopped at the mama lucia tequila distillery. this agave had just been cooked. the nectar was sugar sweet.


21st century mariachi

there’s something about hearing mariachis in mexico that is just magical. it doesn’t hurt when you’re on the beach looking at banderas bay. one thing has changed over the years. note the cell phone onhis belt.


pelican sunset

one of the things i enjoyed most about our recent visit to puerto vallarta was watching the pelicans. we ate dinner at a table in the sand on our last evening and soaked in the sunset while mariachis played.


cathedral – puerto vallarta

when i first visited puerto vallarta with my parents in the ’60s, the airport had a dirt runway in the middle of a field. the city has grown by leaps and bounds since then, but it still retains its charm. i love visiting there.


pelican over banderas bay

puerto vallarta is nestled in banderas bay. it’s easy to sit and watch the pelicans fly, glide and dive for hours.
