starting anew

we visited leonesse cellars in temecula, the setting for may 21st’s field to the fork event for slow food temecula valley. it’s such a treat every year to see new life spring from the vines.

in late january, i visited leonesse cellars in temecula and took this shot looking across the vineyards. in a few months, the vines will be a lush green.


valle de guadalupe

we spent christmas week near rosarito beach and on thursday paid a visit to the valle de guadalupe to do some wine tasting. the storm that brought so much rain was breaking up, and the vines looked their wintry best.


eisele vineyards

my family and the eisele family have been friends for decades. milton and barbara eisiele owned and operated eisele vineyards, growing some of the finest cabernet grapes anywhere before selling the property to bart and daphne araujo. i was able to visit this past wednesday and the colors were stunning.
